Adidas: Apparently they Hate Black People

I’m coming out of faux retirement to write a little bit about this sneaker that Adidas has (had) planned on releasing later this year.  It’s ugly.  Really ugly.  Uglier than a newborn baby.  I mean, It’s offensively ugly.  So much that people have related it to swastikas?

Wait, that can’t be right.

Ok, so i couldn’t understand why anyone would get upset about a shoe until i read this.
click here for the article and a photo.

When adidas launched a photo of their shoe on their facebook page, it went along with the caption: 'Got a sneaker game so hot you lock your kicks to your ankles?'  Which to me, reads ‘these sneakers are so fashionable and good looking, you’re going to want to lock them to your ankles so that no one will steal them off of your feet, and if they attempt to, they will be stopped by the ugly orange (plastic) chain that is attached from the shoe to the ankle’.

Within the first 3 paragraphs of the article, it states the caption above, which means that it has nothing to do with slavery, it’s about locking your shoes to your ankle so no one steals them.  IT’S IN THE FIRST THREE PARAGRAPHS OF THE ARTICLE!  But somehow, even after stating what the shoes are meant to be about, the rest of the article is about something completely different.  They have pictures of slaves, and pictures of convicts, blah blah blah. I get it.  People see the shoes and are offended because they are ignorant and can’t read.  I GET IT!  But why is the media hyping up what these illiterate idiots are saying instead of writing, “adidas in trouble because people can’t read”?
Because the media sucks.  That’s why.
I love how they put in bold letters at the very top of the article: “How would a Jewish person feel if you put a swastika on a shoe?”  Like there is any other answer to that.
“oh, i don’t know, i bet they’d probably feel good about it”.
C’mon!  I get that it’s just a crappy comparison, but they could have at least chosen a better lead line.  That doesn't grab my attention at all.
Anyway, all that aside.  Those shoes are ugly, i would never buy them.  Not in a million years.  Not because it reminds me of the time i was a slave, but because they look like two turd sandwiches shackled to your ankles.
ps, sorry for any grammatical/spelling errors.  I wrote this very quickly in a fit of faux rage.
